Water crisis

Sir, — The water crisis in many south Indian cities such as Chennai and Tiruchi could have been easily resolved if, just after Independence, we had built a network of channels to divert water from the snow-fed rivers in the north to the south. It would have saved many from floods in the north, and in the south it would have provided water for parched throats.
