Mixed fortune for Kolar teams

BANGALORE, AUG. 12. Kolar teams had mixed fortunes en route to the quarterfinals of the State `C' Division basketball league. At the Sree Kanteerava stadium outdoor courts here today, Kanaka (Kolar) downed Rovers (Dharwad) 57-55 after trailing 23-27 at the halfway stage while YFBC (kolar) went down 42-51 against Mysore's YCSC, after enjoying a 19-18 edge after the second quarter.

The results (Pre-quarterfinals): YCSC (Mysore) 51 (Pradeep 24, Sanjay 8, Ashwath 8) bt YFBC (Kolar) 42 (Shivganesh 8, Sudhir 8); Kanaka (Kolar) 57 (Guruprakash 36, Rakesh 9) bt Rovers (Dharwad) 55 (Harsha 19, Naveenchander 12); Greens (Davangere) 56 (Veeresh 12, Praveen 12, Prashanth 12) bt Basavanagudi SC 42 (Sameer Katti 13, Chandramouli 8); Vivekananda (Mandya) 46 (Naveen 14, Sunil 10) bt BCYA (Kolar) 23 (Hitesh 16, Vikram 6).
