ANANTAPUR, AUG. 12. The district Collector, Y.V. Anuradha, has urged the bankers not to allow any middlemen in the matter of sanction and issuance of crop loans. She also asked them to give loans to all eligible farmers.
Role of middlemen
Speaking at a block-level bankers' review meeting held at Madakasira in the district today she stated that a few incidents of the role of middlemen in sanction and issuance of crop loans had come to her notice. She asked the bankers to display the details of fresh loans, reschedulement and renewal of crop loans in every bank. Such publicity would help the farmer become aware of various options and reach of the Government benefits regarding crop loans. The Collector asked the bankers to take the help of MROs to overcome the problem of fake pattadar passbooks while issuing loans. She also asked the MPDOs and mandal agriculture officers to act as coordinators between the bankers and farmers so that the latter get justice.
