ALLAHABAD, AUG 12 . A girl was shot dead and four of her family members injured in a clash between two families in Baraswal village in the district over water draining in agricultural land, police said today. While the 16-year-old girl Geeta died on the spot, her father and two brothers were brutally beaten last evening following clash between the families of Vashishtha Yadav and Parvez over drainage of water in the latter's agriculture land, police said. A case was registered against four members of Parvez's family in connection with the murder of the girl and violent attack on other members of Yadav family, they said. Senior police officials, including the SP (Trans Yamuna) K.P. Singh were camping in the village to monitor the situation, police said, adding additional personnel, including PAC, was deployed in the area in view of simmering tension in the locality. PTI
