NEW DELHI, AUG. 12. Two young men who had gone to meet a travel agent who had apparently promised them visas for Australia have gone missing under highly mysterious circumstances. A case of kidnapping has been registered at the Gokulpuri police station in North-East Delhi. According to the police, Raj Kumar and his brother, Anil Kumar, residents of Gali No. 6 in Bhagirathi Vihar left their home around 4 p.m. on July 30. They had told their family members that they were going to meet one Vicky of Ranjeet Nagar in Patel Nagar. However, they did not return after that. Their uncle, Raghuraj Singh, approached the police complaining that his nephews had gone missing. The Gokulpuri police noted down the complaint as an entry in the daily diary but no case was registered. When no further action was taken, the complainant approached senior police officers of the district following which a case of kidnapping was registered on July 9. Preliminary investigations revealed that Raj Kumar and Anil Kumar, sons of Dalpat Singh, an assistant sub-inspector in the Central Industrial Security Force presently posted in Tripura, used to jointly run a tourist vehicle. However, they wanted to earn more and, of late, had hit upon the idea of going to Australia for the same. In this connection, they had got in touch with Vicky, who had apparently promised to get them visas to their dream destination. The two brothers had also apparently paid a large sum of money to Vicky for the purpose. On July 30, the brothers left the house on their scooter. An hour later, they called up their family members -- wives of both the brothers are pregnant -- saying that they have reached Vicky's place. After that nobody heard from them. When the worried family members went looking for them and contacted Vicky, he denied having met the brothers. There is no trace of the scooter too. While the police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case, the family has reportedly not received any ransom call. Further investigations in the case are on.
