MUMBAI, AUG. 13. A Division Bench of the Bombay High Court, comprising Chief Justice, Dalbir Bhandari, and Judge, Dhananjay Chandrachud, without granting interim relief, posted the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking to prevent the BCCI from opening the bids and grant license to broadcasting company/companies for August 16. The BCCI, on August 7, invited tenders for live television and radio broadcast of international cricket matches to be played in India as a part of the regular bilateral series determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well as domestic cricket matches conducted by the BCCI from September 2004 to August 2008. The BCCI would receive sealed bids up to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 14 and the bids would be opened at 2. 30 p.m.
