Kalam to address nation today

NEW DELHI, AUG. 13. The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will address the nation tomorrow on the eve of the 58th Independence Day.

The address, the third since he assumed office, will be broadcast over the national network of Doordarshan from 7 p.m. and over all channels of All India Radio from 7.30 p.m.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, will unfurl the tricolor on the ramparts of the Red Fort and address the nation, the first by him, on Independence Day.
