CID seizes Spectrum Power documents

HYDERABAD,
AUG. 13.
The Crime Investigation Department of the Andhra Pradesh police on Friday said its teams had conducted searches at seven places simultaneously in Hyderabad in connection with a case registered against the Spectrum Power General Limited (SPGL).
In a statement, the CID Additional DGP, P.V. Naidu, said officials had seized several important documents.
"The documents seized are related to transactions of alleged bogus companies floated by the accused, bank transactions and money transfers from different companies to the SPGL and vice-versa from 1994 onwards," Mr. Naidu said.
The CID had registered cases pertaining to criminal breach of trust, cheating, using forged documents for cheating and misappropriation against the former Managing Director of the SGPL, M. Kishan Rao, following a complaint lodged by the AP Transco last June.
