NEW DELHI, AUG. 13. A week after two third year students of Delhi University's Kirori Mal College were expelled from the hostel for ragging a fresher, the Proctorial Committee investigating the matter has found the students guilty and decided to extend the expulsion till early January. The students will, however, be allowed to join the hostel again provided their conduct during the coming months is found to be satisfactory. The decision was taken by a 24-member Proctorial Committee on Friday following a deliberation on the severity of the punishment to be awarded. Although the students were found guilty, the college Vice-Principal, Dr. Virendra Kumar, said: "We decided not to expel them from college as they are in their final year and we did not want to spoil their academic career. They are barred from the hostel till the end of the second term, but may be allowed to join the hostel if their conduct is found to be satisfactory.'' The two are students of Physics (Honours) and History (Honours). A complaint was made against them by a fresher on August 5. Although not the first case of ragging reported from the college this year, this case was seen and regarded as much more serious and an enquiry constituted to look into it.
