CUDDAPAH, AUG. 14. The Proddatur police took into custody a man and two women, on the charge of attempting to steal gold ornaments worth Rs. 50,000 from a jewellery shop. According to the Proddatur II Town SI, Bali Reddy, Doodimenta Ramesh, of Chityala village in Nalgonda district and his relatives, Galeti Chandrakala, Irugu Padmavathi and Jarikela Rakesh Kumar, residents of L.B. Nagar, Hyderabad, visited a jewellery shop on the pretext of buying jewellery. They were shown various ornaments but made no purchase. When they were leaving, the shop owner noticed that three jewellery boxes were missing and therefore apprehended them. The three boxes containing 18 pairs of ear-studs and nine rings were recovered from them, Mr. Bali Reddy said. Rakesh Kumar fled.
