Education loans

MADURAI, AUG. 14. The Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, has congratulated the State Bank of India for its "outstanding performance" of sanctioning Rs. 75.61 lakhs as education loans through its Karaikudi branch.

In a statement, Mr. Chidambaram said the branch received 60 applications for education loans from students undergoing various courses in a special drive on July 4. All applicants were sanctioned loans to the tune of Rs 75,61,600.
