HYDERABAD, AUG.14. The CPI State Council on Saturday demanded an enquiry into all financial deals of Spectrum Power Generation Ltd in the country and abroad and its "defrauding" of public money. The Government should recover the "crores of rupees looted by the company," the panel said. S. Sudhakar Reddy, MP and party secretary, in a statement issued here, said the enquiry should not be "eyewash." He said the CID raid on the properties of the company's managing director and unearthing of incriminating documents on his "swindling" of Transco vindicated the party's stand that the firm was indulging in "underhand dealings from the inception." Mr. Reddy said the party had brought the financial irregularities to the notice of the TDP Government, the AP Transco and the police, who for "obvious" reasons turned a deaf ear.
