KOLKATA, AUG. 14. Pankaj Advani of Karnataka will meet Ashok Shandilya of Railways in the best of 11 frames final of the billiards selection tournament at the SAI (Eastern Centre) here on Sunday. In the semifinals, Advani beat Mohammad Asim of Railways 4-3, while Shandilya ousted Devendra Joshi 4-3. Earlier, Joshi defeated Alok Kumar of Punjab 3-1 in the group league to emerge with an all-win record.
The results: Semifinals: Pankaj Advani (Kar) bt Md. Asim (Rly) 4-3 (101 (76)-54, 61-100, 102-40, 67-101, 29-101, 101-10, 101-18); Ashok Shandilya (Rly) bt Devendra Joshi (Mah) 4-3 (69-102 (55), 102 (76)-7, 72-100, 100-88, 102-26, 98-100 (98), 101-74).
Group A: Joshi bt Alok Kumar (Pun) 3-1 (15-100, 100-20, 101-79, 101-27); Asim bt Dhruv Sitwala (Rly) 3-2 (100 (41)-62, 92-101, 96-101, 100-69, 100 (73)-10).
