Temperature

MADURAI, AUG. 14. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 34.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26.6 degrees Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam stood at 123.7 feet with an inflow of 1407 cusecs and a discharge of 1400 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 38.91 feet with an inflow of 1114 cusecs and a discharge of 930 cusecs. The combined Periyar storage was 4143 mcft.

The Periyar dam received 17 mm of rainfall followed by Tekkadi — 8, Shanmuganadi — 5, Gudalur and Veerapandi — 3 and Uthamapalayam — 1 mm.
