Central Excise triumphs

KOVILPATTI, AUG. 15. Central Excise, Chennai lifted the Everest Mariappa Nadar Memorial Trophy defeating Food Corporation of India, Chennai 6-2 in the State-level hockey tournament here on Sunday. Farook (2), Saravanan, Ramkumar, Ibrahim and Namasivayam scored for the winner, while Montgomery scored both the goals for FCI.

GK Motor Finance Club finished third defeating Armed Police 3-2 in the loser's final.

Sports Hostel, Tirunelveli won the Santhanamuthu Memorial Trophy defeating VOC Government HSS, Kovilpatti 5-0 in the district schools' tournament. Vinothraj (3), Anbukannan and Selvam scored.
