Olympic Games
Sharath Kamal bows out
ATHENS,
AUG. 15.
The Indian challenge in Olympics table tennis came to a tame end when Commonwealth champion Achanta Sharath Kamal lost his second round tie in straight sets to Lai Chak Ko of Hong Kong here on Sunday. Ko won 11-9, 11-5, 11-9, 11-6.
The 22-year-old Indian gave some tough time to his rival in the first and third set but failed to sustain so throughout the match which proved costly in the end.
The Chennai-based paddler would be satisfied with his performance at the Games since he was never a medal prospect and had set himself a goal of clearing the first hurdle before leaving from India. PTI
