Tungabhadra dam overflows
According to information, the dam authorities released around 3,500 cusecs for power generation last night and opened floodgates on Sunday morning after the inflow into the reservoir increased to 51,310 cusecs. The total outflow from the reservoir was 33,473 cusecs. The discharge is likely to be increased in the next few days as the catchment areas of the river in Shimoga district received heavy rainfall. The authorities alerted people living on the riverbank villages on both sides. The flood will help reopening of RDS and KC canals immediately.
Watchman killed; bikes taken away from showroom
According to the Mancherial Sub-Inspector, Purushottam Reddy, the duo stabbed to death the watchman, Sudarshan, and made away with motorbikes worth Rs. 70,000.
Police deny TDP charge
Talking to newsmen here, they said the TDP leaders' charge that the DSP had summoned Krishna was also wrong. Call to power staff
