The city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 19.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday. It received 8 mm of rainfall. The relative humidity was 78 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum temperature was 28.9 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature 18.6 degrees Celsius. It received 6.2 mm of rainfall. The relative humidity was 71 per cent.

The forecast for Monday is: the sky will be cloudy. Rain is likely in the evening.

Scholarships

S.J. Jindal Trust has announced scholarships for students studying engineering, medicine, agricultural sciences and other courses after pre-university. Students without financial assistance from any other source may apply. Girls from families with an annual income less than Rs. 1,20,000 will be given special consideration, it has said.

Courses

The Institute for Research, Development and Training of Construction Trades and Management will conduct two evening courses on ``Construction Project Scheduling using MS Project'' and "Primavera Project Planner" in September. The course is aimed at senior management executives, project engineers, engineers of public sector organisations, builders and developers. Training

Foremen Training Institute will conduct a training programme for Union Government employees who have opted for voluntary retirement. The training will be for 40 days in various engineering subjects. A stipend of Rs. 60 a day will be paid to each participant, the institute has said in a press release.
