Scholars honoured

NEW DELHI,
AUG. 17.
Fifteen Sanskrit scholars have been awarded the Certificate of Honour this Independence Day along with three scholars in Arabic, three in Persian, and one in Pali/Prakrit.
The 15 Sanskrit scholars who bagged the distinction conferred annually on Independence Day are: Keshav Sharma, Madhura Krishnamurthy Sastry, Braj Bihari Chaubey, M. L. Krishnamoorthy Ghanapati, Pushpa Dixit, Sushma Kulshreshtha, D. Prahladachar, M. Sivakumara Swamy, K. Achuthan Pillai, Dwarikadas Shastri, Ramaranjan Bhattacharya, Satya Prakash Singh, Vashishtha Tripathi, Apurba Chandra Barthakur and Mudumby Narasimhachary.
The Certificate of Honour in Pali/Prakrit has gone to Bhagchandra Jain. The honour in Arabic has gone to Ismat Lateef Mehdi, Veeran Moideen K. V. and M. Salim Kidwai. And, the Persian scholars to bag the certificate are Abbasi Mehboobhusain Ahmedhusain, Y. M. Pathan and Hafiz Mohammad Tahir Ali.
