Telgi aide arrested

NEW DELHI, AUG. 17. The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested another close associate of the prime accused in the multi-crore stamp paper scam, Abdul Karim Telgi, from Bangalore.

Pradeep Kumar, arrested last evening, was being produced in the court of the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Bangalore, the CBI said here today. Arrested earlier in Hyderabad in 1999, Kumar had jumped bail in September the same year and was Telgi's key opertive for Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh regions. — UNI
