Spain, Croatia keep clean slate

ATHENS, AUG. 17. Spain and Croatia maintained their unbeaten records in the handball competition with contrasting wins, while Germany, France and Hungary also earned maximum points.

Spain, bronze medallist in Atlanta and Sydney, beat Iceland 31-23, Croatia edged Slovenia 27-26 and South Korea squeezed past Russia 35-32.

``I'm very glad we beat such a tough team which has a great goalkeeper (Gudmundur Hrafnkelsson),'' Spain captain David Barrufet said. ``There were times that I believed we could not score a single goal against him.'' — AP
