Eldo's body laid to rest

NEDUMBASSERY, AUG. 17. The body of the Malayali who was killed in an explosion in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital city, was brought here on Tuesday morning.

The Gulf Air flight from Abu Dhabi, carrying the body of Eldo (30), who was an electrical engineer in Baghdad, arrived at the Nedumbassery airport at 6.10 a.m. Eldo, a resident of Thuruthissery, in Nedumbassery panchayat, had left for Baghdad 11 months ago. He had been working for Prime Project International, a British construction company.

From the airport the body was first taken to the Government hospital in Angamaly, and was brought to Eldo's house at Thuruthissery by 8.45 a.m. Later the body was taken to Aphroath Jacobite Syrian Church, in Angamaly, where it was laid to rest.

Earlier at the airport, the body was received by M.A. Chandrashekharan, Vadakkekara MLA and the Nedumbassery panchayat president, P.Y. Varghese, along with the victim's relatives.
