Panel to go into land allotment

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, AUG. 17. The Government here on Tuesday constituted a four-member Ministerial committee headed by the one incharge of Forests, S. Vijayarama Raju, to go into the issues relating to lands allotted to certain beneficiaries but possession not given, especially in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.

The other members are K. Rosaiah, D. Prasada Rao and K. Ranga Rao, Ministers for Finance, Revenue and Municipal Administration respectively. The committee has V. P. Jauhari, Principal Secretary, Revenue, as its convener. It is vested with powers to take decisions and execute them for handing over the physical possession of lands to the beneficiaries.

The panel was in partial fulfilment of the promise made by the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, at the recent all-party meeting, responding to a suggestion made by left parties.
