HYDERABAD, AUG. 17. A history-sheeter of Golconda police station, Ali Raja (35), was found murdered in an abandoned car at a paid parking lot beside Agarwal College near Charminar last night. Workers of the parking lot grew suspicious when they noticed blood trickling from the rear side of the car. They alerted the Charminar police who, after opening the doors, found the body of Raja below the rear seat with multiple knife and sword injuries. "Blood stains inside the vehicle suggest the victim was murdered inside the car only. However, the car was brought to the parking lot after carrying out the murder somewhere else," opined the Inspector, Y. Madhusudhan Rao. Raja was allegedly involved in several offences in the limits of Kalapathar, Santoshnagar and Hussainialam police stations.
Mother, son end life
A 45-year-old woman, Shareefun, and her son, Shaik Shafi (23), reportedly committed suicide in their house by consuming pesticide at Beerappagadda in the Uppal police station area on Tuesday night. "Inquiries suggested that pecuniary problems might have driven them to the extreme step," the Sub-Inspector, B. Ravinder Reddy, said. Two empty bottles of Baygon Spray were found beside the bodies. Shareefun's husband, Shaik Vali, returned home around 8 p.m. and saw the mother and the son convulsing. With the help of neighbours, he shifted them to a hospital where they died while undergoing treatment.
