Inter-school meet
BANGALORE,
AUG. 17.
The Bangalore Sports Club-KPMG Bangalore City inter-school athletic meet will be held at the Sree Kanteerava stadium from August 19 to 21.
Over 6000 athletes from nearly 170 schools will participate in the meet in which 60 events in five age categories — under-16, under-14, under-12, under-10 and under-8 for boys and girls — will be held.
The top three schools in the overall standings stands to gain Rs. 25000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5000 respectively towards improving their infrastructure. The Best boy and girl athlete will earn Rs. 1000 each while the physical education teachers of the top 10 schools will get Rs. 1000 each for their efforts.
The KPMG Independence Day run also organised with the efforts of the Bangalore Sports Club will be held on August 29 at the outskirts of the Sree Kanteerava stadium. Under-16, under-14 and under-11 boys and girls can participate in the road race.
