Aneesh, Jason in final

BANGALORE, AUG. 18. Karnataka State champion K.A. Aneesh of CRSB and Jason Xavier (LIC) will clash for the men's title in the all-India inter-Institutional badminton on Thursday. At the KBA courts here on Wednesday, Aneesh outplayed Devendra Dhillon of FCI 15-3, 15-6, while Jason tamed fellow LIC player Kishore Kumar 15-10, 17-14.

The results: Men's singles: Semifinals: K.A. Aneesh (CRSB) bt Devendra Dhillon (FCI) 15-3, 15-6; Jason Xavier (LIC) bt Kishore Kumar (LIC) 15-10, 17-14. Quarterfinals: Devendra bt Soman Bhattacharji (LIC) 15-7, 15-11; Aneesh bt Guruprasad (BSB) 15-13, 15-3; Jason bt Abhijit Naimpally (BSB) 15-8, 7-15, 15-9; Kishore bt Vivek Tatwade (BSB) 15-4, 15-10.

Men's doubles: Semifinals: K.A. Aneesh/Sanave Thomas (CRSB) bt Bibhas Parida/Hatti Baruva (BSNL) 15-10, 15-4; Jason/Soman Bhattacharji (LIC) bt Guruprasad/Abhijit (BSB) 15-8, 15-10.

Women's singles: Semifinals: Leena Dhapre (LIC) bt Manju George (LIC) 11-7, 11-4; Sumithra Pujari (BSNL) bt Kavitha Dixit (LIC) 11-0, 11-2.

Doubles: Final: Leena/Manju (LIC) bt Preeth George/Kavitha Dixit (LIC) 15-1, 15-1.
