Shyam Ponnappa slams century

BANGALORE, AUG. 18. Opener Shyam Ponnappa's 115 guided KSCA XI to 259 against Canara Bank in the MRF Trophy KSCA All-India invitation tournament quarterfinal that commenced at the JIRS Ground here on Wednesday.

In the other matches, which were marred by rain and bad light, ONGC scored 188 for three against Chemplast, NCA romped to 324 for nine against Indian Airlines and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) scored 265 against Associated Banks.

The scores (quarterfinals): KSCA XI 259 in 89.4 overs (Shyam Ponnappa 115, Pawan Gargi 42, C. Raghu four for 38) vs Canara Bank.

ONGC 188 for three in 58 overs (Sandeep Sharma 83, Mithun Minhas 46 n.o., Gagan Khoda 30) vs Chemplast.

NCA 324 for nine in 87 overs (Rohit Sharma 88, Y. Gnaneshwara Rao 84, Sunny Singh 49, Suresh Raina 41, Sandeep Sawal three for 94) vs Indian Airlines.

CAB 265 in 89.3 overs (Arindam Das 62, Subhomoy Das 59, Sanjeeb Sanyal 31, Sourashish Lahiri 31, Pawan Kumar three for 34, Anand Katti three for 60) vs Associated Banks.
