KOTTAYAM, AUG.18. A march taken out by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists to the office of Kottayam Dy.SP here today turned violent. The police used force to disperse the activists. According to the police, the march was stopped near the District Collectorate but the protesting activists tried to push forward using force. Four policemen and four BJYM activists suffered injuries in the melee. The march was taken out under the leadership of the BJYM district general secretary, N. Hari. BJYM activists, protesting against the police action on the BJYM agitation at Kovalam over the controversial Halcyon Castle deal, took out protest marches in Pala and Kanjirappally too. The agitation at Kottayam was inaugurated by the BJYM district president, B. Radhakrishna Menon.
