NEW DELHI, AUG. 18. Accusing the United Progressive Alliance Government (UPA) of betraying student and youth related issues, the All India Students' Association (AISA) and the Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA) staged a protest march in the Capital on Wednesday. A delegation of the student outfit is slated to meet the Human Resource Development Minister, Arjun Singh, on Thursday. Starting from the Ramlila Grounds, students from Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia and Allahabad University besides those from Uttrakhanad and Punjab participated in the march. The protestors were stopped near Jantar Mantar. Stating that the policies of liberalisation had resulted in unemployment and suicides by farmers, the AISA has demanded that the UPA Government guarantee the right to employment.
