NEW DELHI, AUG. 18. To improve the lot of the people of his constituency, the Outer Delhi Member of Parliament, Sajjan Kumar, has drawn up a comprehensive plan for expansion and improvement of existing health facilities to ensure that people do not have to go to far away places to seek medical treatment. Talking to newsmen here, Mr. Kumar said the plan includes establishment of new hospitals, expansion of existing ones and installation of state-of-the-art equipment to make them super speciality units. Mr. Kumar informed that he had already discussed the matter with the Delhi Health Minister, Yoganand Shastri, in the presence of MLAs from Outer Delhi. The Delhi Development Minister, Raj Kumar Chauhan, was also present during the meeting. He said that a review of the existing health facilities in the Outer Delhi constituency was undertaken along with a plan for the future keeping in mind the needs and aspirations of the people. At the meeting it was decided to set up a 500-bed hospital at Dwarka falling under the Palam Assembly constituency. This hospital would fulfil the requirements of the residents of Dwarka, nearby urban villages and those living in resettlement colonies. He further disclosed that capacity of Maharishi Balmiki and Rao Tula Ram Hospitals falling under the Bawana and Najafgarh constituencies would be enhanced to 200 beds each from the existing 100 beds capacity.
