Drive against autos plying without meters

By Our Staff Reporter

KOLLAM, AUG. 19. The District Collector, B. Sreenivas, has said that strict action will be initiated against autorickshaw drivers plying in the city if they fail to operate the meters.

The decision was taken at a special meeting called by Mr. Sreenivas with the officials of the police, the Transport and the Legal Meteorology Departments. The drive against autorickshaws would be launched from August 20. Special squads from the police and other concerned departments would conduct raids to check whether the autorickshaws were operating the meters. The autorickshaws operating from the mofussil areas would not be permitted to return with passengers from the city.
