It was an education for him

By Our Staff Correspondent

TUMKUR, AUG 19. A man who posed as an education officer and abused a schoolteacher at the Government Primary School at Honnenahalli in Tumkur district was caught by villagers and handed over to the police on Wednesday.

It is said that Chandrashekaraiah of Soolekoppa in the district befriended the headmaster of the school, Ramachandraiah, and entered a class posing as an education officer.

He allegedly abused Kalpana, the class teacher, following which she broke down. The students reported the matter to their parents during the interval.

Beaten up

The president of the School Development and Management Committee, Nanjundappa, a senior citizen, Gururaj, and a group of parents enquired about the matter and found that the headmaster and the impostor were in the wrong.

The two were thrashed by the people and the so-called education officer was handed over to the police.

The SDMC members and the people urged the Government to take disciplinary action against the headmaster and demanded that he be dismissed from service.
