Good day for St. Xaviers

MADURAI, AUG. 19. St. Xaviers Higher Secondary School (Palayamkottai) won both the super-senior and the senior titles in the 19th State-level inter-school basketball tournament for K.S.S.N. Mangaleswari Memorial Trophy at VMJ School ground here on Thursday.

The results: Super seniors (final): St. Xavier's 56 (V. Saravanamuthu 28, A. Vennimal 18) bt St. Britto's HSS, Madurai 29 (Anand 10).

Seniors (final): St. Xaviers 45 (Arul Jeyaraj 22, Ganesh 12) bt AVHSS, Paramakudi 42 (Rajesh Kumar 19). St. Xaviers 57 (Arul Jeyaraj 28, Ganesh 21) bt Idhayam Rajendran Residential School 53 (Narendran 11, Ramakrishnan 15); AVHSS, Paramakudi 48 (Nesarajaperumal 14, Rajakumar 12) bt VMJHSS 45 (Prasad 23, Vimalan 12).
