4 CPI(ML) men shot dead

By K. Balchand

PATNA, AUG. 19. The banned People's War attacked the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) block office in Paliganj in Patna district and killed four of its area committee members, including a mukhiya, on Wednesday night, in what police said was an act of reprisal. The marauders swooped down on the office and opened fire killing the Jarkha Panchayat mukhiya, Mandeep Goswamy, the Dulhin Bazaar pramukh, Rajeshwar Mochi, the office secretary, Shivdani Yadav, and Jagdeo Prasad. The party maintained that the killers had abducted a fifth member whose fate was not known.
