Sporting suffers another jolt

KOLKATA, AUG. 19. Mohammedan Sporting's chances of improving its position in the Calcutta Football League's Super Division were diminished as it lost 1-0 to Railway FC here on Thursday.

This was Sporting's fifth loss and is languishing at the bottom in the 14-team table with just 10 points form nine outings.

The team, coached by Mridul Banerjee, has been incoherent all through this season despite having several former internationals in its ranks.

Sporting's striking problems came to the fore once again today as its players wasted many chances to score. And the Railwaymen worked on fast counter-attacks and struck the target through Suraj Mondal. — Our Sports Reporter
