ANANTAPUR, AUG. 19. The TDP legislator from Penukonda, Paritala Ravindra, has taken exception to the district Congress leaders leading a team of his alleged victims from the constituency to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in Hyderabad on Wednesday. He criticised that the version of Congress leaders was the only one side of the coin. Talking to newspersons here on Thursday, he said that Dr. Reddy was the Chief Minister for the State and not just for Congressmen. It was his responsibility to hear both sides of the alleged victimisation in Penukonda constituency before taking any decision.
Poser to Congress
"If Congress is blaming the TDP for 200 killings of Congressmen in Anantapur district from 1994 to 2004, the Congress must answer 120 killings on the TDP side too during the same period,'' Mr. Ravindra said. People of the district still remember the horror unleashed by the Congress till 1994, he said.
Probe sought
Asking the Government to order an impartial probe into all the killings, Mr. Ravindra said he would not mind to be hanged if he was proved guilty in any of the killings. He mentioned that the terror unleashed by Congress leaders in the constituency in the form of rapes, kidnaps, murders and torching properties were still fresh in the minds of people.
Charge against rivals
Mr. Ravindra accused Congress leaders of burying the bodies of several TDP men without leaving any trace for investigation of the cases. He also reminded that people knew very well the history of leaders who led the team to Hyderabad. Reacting to the charges levelled against him by the Congress legislator from Gooty, N. Neelavati, Mr. Ravindra stated that she herself would emerge as the reason for her father's death if it was probed impartially.
