BEML wins title

MYSORE, AUG. 20. Defending champion, BEML (Mysore) helped by some rousing display Ramakanth V. Rao (18) and Ramesh (14) registered a 76-43 win over Pro-Tec in the men's final and clinched the title in the Independence Day basketball tournament conducted by National Sports Club here on Friday.

The results: (all finals):

Men: BEML (Mysore) 76 (Ramakanth V. Rao 18, Ramesh 14) bt Pro-Tec 43 (Md. Hidayath 10, James 12) (ht 33-23).

Women: Sports Hostel, Mysore 34 (Kavitha 14, Sumalatha 8) bt Rangers 14 (Bindya 6) (ht 18-4).

Degree College Men: Basudeva Somani FGC 64 (Jayanth 14, J.B. Joshan 11) bt SBRR Mahajana's 47 (Christopher 15, Shashwath 12) (ht 31-25).

Degree College (women): Teresian `A' 47 (Suma 14) bt Teresian `B' 44 (Rajeshwari 15) (ht 26-26).

High School boys: St. Joseph's `A' 39 (Karthik 18) bt SRKVS 15 (Ajay Shenoy 6) (ht 17-10).
