ATHENS, AUG. 20. Defending champion Australia, seeking a golden hat-trick in the women's hockey competition, continued to flounder. In a pool `B' match on Friday morning, the Hockeyroos were forced to share points with Korea. And the outcome made it difficult to identify the qualifier. Both the teams have four points each after three matches. While the Aussies next face the strong Netherlands, which is unbeaten so far in three matches, the Koreans have a match against Germany. Neither side distinguished itself as a leading combination, frittering chances galore. Despite surging into the lead within minutes through Lousie Dobson, who converted a penalty corner, the Aussies surrendered the initiative. The Korean attack carried enough punch to confuse the Aussie defence, which conceded 10 penalty corners in the match and put enormous pressure on goal-keeper Imison Rachel. The Koreans levelled four minutes before the half-time when Hyun Mi Park made the most of a scrimmage. Shortly after the break, the Aussies went ahead again through Katrina Powell, but the Koreans recovered through a goal by Park Sook-Jeong. The Aussies failed to convert three penalty corners in the closing minutes and even wasted a sitter when Katie Allen fumbled a pass from Julie Towers. Our Special Correspondent
