MADURAI, AUG.20. A delegation of lawyers from the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court today presented a memorandum to the President, requesting him not to modify the territorial jurisdiction of the Madurai Bench. In a fax message to The Hindu, the delegation alleged that it had also requested him to amicably settle the dispute arising out of the new rules framed in the Advocates Act and he assured to look into the matter. They also invited the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Somnath Chatterjee, to preside over the national law seminar scheduled in Madurai for the third week of August.
