BANGALORE, AUG. 21. In order to clear the rush on account of the Onam festival, South Western Railway will run a special train between Bangalore and Ernakulam. It will also run a special train between Bangalore and Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam. Bangalore City-Ernakulam Special (train no. 0697) will leave Bangalore at 10.15 p.m. on August 25 and reach Ernakulam at 11.30 a.m. on August 26. In the return direction, Ernakulam-Bangalore City Special (train no. 0698) will leave Ernakulam at 5.15 a.m. on August 26 and reach Bangalore at 7.35 a.m. on August 27. The special train between Bangalore and Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam will run for six days from August 24. Bangalore City-Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam Special I will leave Bangalore at 7.45 a.m. and reach Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam at 11.30 a.m. In the return direction, Special II will leave Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam at 4.30 p.m. and reach Bangalore at 8.35 p.m.
Extension
In order to clear the rush, the services of Howrah-Bangalore City-Howrah Summer Special Expresses (train nos. 803/804) have been extended up to August 24. Howrah-Bangalore City Summer Special (train no. 803) will leave Howrah on Wednesdays at 3.25 p.m. and reach Bangalore on Fridays at 4 a.m. The services leaving from Bangalore on Fridays will continue till November 2004 and the last service will be on November 26.
Stoppage
For the benefit of passengers, Bangalore City-New Delhi-Bangalore City Karnataka Express (train nos. 2627/2628) will stop at Yelahanka from September 1 on an experimental basis for six months, according to a press release.
