Low pressure brings rain

HYDERABAD, AUG. 21. With the southwest monsoon turning active under the influence of a low pressure area in the sea, Perur and Eturu Nagaram received a heavy rainfall of 9 cm and 8 cm respectively on Saturday.

The other chief amounts of rainfall were: Coonavaram, Parvathipuram 5 cm each; Dummagudem, Kaleswaram 4 cm each.

Light to moderate rains are likely at many places on Sunday in Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal, Khammam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari districts. The rain might be "isolated" in Rayalaseema.
