Jharkhand in final
KAPURTHALA,
AUG. 22.
Defending champion Jharkhand defeated Orissa 4-2 via tiebreaker in the semifinal of the 17th National sub-junior women's hockey championship here on Sunday.
The teams were locked 1-1 in regulation time. Rosaline Dung Dung scored for Orissa and Anima Soreng for Jharkhand. In the tiebreaker, Anima, Roshni Mumndu and Silvanthi Minjore scored for the winner, while Sulochana Kisan found the target for Orissa.
In the other semifinal, Haryana outclassed Manipur 6-1. The scorers for Haryana were Meenakshi (2), Ramandeep Kaur (2) and Ritu Rani (2). S. Reena scored for Manipur.
