MYSORE, AUG. 22. Yogesh Gore (Chhattisgarh), the top seed, second-seeded R.K. Mishra (MP), third seed Kunal (Bihar) and fourth seed A.L. Kashi (TN) registered wins and led the table with two points along with 12 others at the end of the second round of the 19th All-India Postal chess tournament for men at the Postal Training Centre here on Sunday. In carrom, last-year's runner-up Karnataka shocked defending champion Tamil Nadu 2-1 to reach the final of the ninth Postal team championship here on Sunday.
Chess: Important results (second round): Karthik Dhansena (Ori, 1) lost to Yogesh Gore (Chat, 2); R.K. Mishra (MP, 2) bt Rajender Khachi (HP, 1); Sridhar C. Bhat (Kar) lost to Kunal (Bih, 2); A.L. Kasi (TN, 2) bt Soni K.K (Chat, 2); Sukrachandra (AP, 1) lost to Panigrahi (Ori, 2); Srivatsava (Bih, 2) bt Upadhayaya (Kar, 1); Yadav (Guj, 1.5) drew with Muthukumar (TN, 1.5); P.N. Mondal (Jhar, 1) lost to B.K. Sahoo (WB, 2); N. Garadi (Kar, 2) bt Jhariya (MP, 1); Sant Ram (HP, 1) lost to Senthil Kumar (TN, 2).
