GUNTUR, AUG. 22. The Joint Collector, B. Janardhana Reddy, ordered a magisterial inquiry into the boat capsize incident at Dharanikota. He announced an immediate relief of Rs.5,000 to the husband of the deceased, Venkataramana. The police, meanwhile, gave up search for the five bodies as light failed. Services of 10 divers, who were trained for rescue work at Amaravathi for the Krishna Pushkarams, were utilised for the search operations. Divers from the Fisheries Department were also being readied for taking up the work from Monday morning, the Amaravathi Sub-Inspector said. Police and revenue officials searched for bodies in the river in two boats.
