KOCHI, AUG. 23. Despite many of our star shooters choking on the big stage in Athens, more exposure and frequent international tournaments are still the main keys to success in the Olympics, says the National shooting coach Sunny Thomas.
"Our shooters are world class, but we now realise that the Olympics is a different experience altogether. We must now plan things long-term and I am not talking only about shooting. Many countries have already begun planning for the next Olympics, some even for 2012, but we tend to start only a year before the Games. This must change," said Prof. Sunny at the media meet here on Monday evening.
"As far as shooters are concerned, we must follow the same system of giving them more and more exposure to sharpen them," he said.
Later, Prof. Sunny was felicitated by Cochin Alive, a group which promotes cultural and social issues.
