SHIMLA, AUG 23. The SFI won all the four seats of president, vice-president, general secretary and joint secretary in the HP University Campus and the HP University Evening College. Despite clear instructions to various Ministers and MLAs and best efforts by the Congress Government, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) once again failed to get a seat. The Akhil Bhaartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) also drew a blank in the election to the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) students'union that were held today. In Himachal University, Bhupinder Singh of the SFI defeated Vikrant Thakur of the ABVP by a big margin of 261 votes to get the president's seat. Neeraj Vasu of the SFI won the general secretary post by a margin of just 19 votes by defeating his ABVP rival, Rohit Kumar. The lone woman candidate, Nivriti Mohan of the SFI won the vice- president seat by defeating Sunil Mankotia of the ABVP by 258 votes. For the joint secretary post, Prashant Thakur also of the SFI defeated his ABVP rival by a margin of 310 votes. After a gap of about 10 years the SFI made a clean sweep in the HP University Evening College after winning all four posts.
