VSP slashes product prices

VISAKHAPATNAM, AUG. 24. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. has slashed the prices of all its products by Rs. 1,000 a tonne with effect from Tuesday.

According to a VSP spokesman, this is in line with the decision taken by steel majors to reduce their product prices with a view to containing inflationary trends and make steel available at reasonable prices to end-customers in the domestic market. ``VSP has already cut down its steel exports in its bid to meet the growing demand for steel in the country,'' he said.
