Sonia urged to reconsider decision

By Our Staff Reporter

PATHANAMTHITTA, AUG 24. The dispute in the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam over the Guruvarsham-150 celebrations has come out in the open with the Yogam president. C.K. Vidyasagar, urging the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, to reconsider her decision to inaugurate the programme.

In a letter to Ms. Gandhi, Mr. Vidyasagar has said that the decision to keep the Yogam president away from presiding over the function — who is entitled to do so — has evoked protests from the 10-million strong Ezhava community. There is resentment in the community over the decision of the Congress leadership to abet the group activities of an unruly secretary.
