MADURAI, AUG. 24. The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association has sought the revocation of the Essential Services Maintenance Act and Tamil Nadu Essential Services Maintenance Act in the State. This resolution was adopted at its seventh district conference held here on Sunday. The association said Parliament should enact right to strike as an act. Another resolution sought benefits, including surrender leave, bonus, etc., for the Government employees. The Government should reinstate the road workers and the Khadi Craft employees and take steps to fill up vacant posts in its departments. The following were elected new office-bearers: Suba. Mari (president), V. Sankaralingam, K. Thamizharasu and S. Gomathinayagam (vice-presidents), A. Chellam (secretary), P. Gnanathambi, R. Subburam and R. Pandiammal (joint secretaries) and N. Jayaraman (treasurer).
