PONDICHERRY, AUG. 24. A 20-year-old student of a Bangalore-based Engineering College, Kiran Kotian, was drowned in the Bay of Bengal near here on Sunday. Police sources said the body was washed ashore at Kalapet today. Kiran and two other students came to Cuddalore from Bangalore for a project. They came here on Sunday and Kiran Kotian, who went into the sea to have a bath met with a watery grave. The other two students registered a complaint with the Kottakuppam police station (in Tamil Nadu). With the body being washed ashore at Kalapet, the local police recovered it and post-mortem was conducted in the Government General Hospital.
